General Accountability:

The Team Lead will successfully manage the following:

  • Responsible for oversight of the preparation and analysis of environmental samples using prescribed methods and standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for overseeing a small group of analysts and their training.
  • Responsible for managing a group of analytical tests, including managing backlogs, turnaround time, and reviewing and approving data
  • Responsible for preparing and/or analyzing batches of samples and accurately reviewing this information for compliance and completeness.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of defined areas; keep abreast of state-of-the-art techniques.
  • Participate in SOP development and review.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Able to take ownership for meeting goals and objectives as defined by management.
  • Exercise and enforce laboratory safety practices.
  • Strong commitment to quality and integrity.
  • Must actively participate in the laboratory’s Quality System.
  • Responsible for utilizing computer software and systems required to process data.



Physical Demands:

  • Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with staff, management and clients.
  • Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate computer and instrumentation.
  • Average vision and able to see to read reports and operate instrumentation.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift for 100% of an 8+ hour day.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.
  • Able to lift up to 50+ lbs.
